Queen’s-Blyth instructors and local guides will take you through Costa Rica’s incredibly varied geographic landscape, with its magnificent mosaic of habitats that include sub-alpine forest, lowland rain forest, dry savannah, cloud forests, freshwater marshes, coastal mangroves, tropical lakes and rivers, and active volcanoes. The country’s political and economic development is also remarkable, presenting the world with a model of sustainable growth and political engagement.
This Session will have students exploring the ocean while snorkelling, participating in a Local Community Project, taking guided night treks through tropical forests and guided hikes up the Arenal volcano. Costa Rica is the perfect place for students of various disciplines to study political and ecological systems.
